Wallpaper Instructions: How to Apply Non-Woven Wallpaper with Ease

What you’ll need
A good start makes everything easier. Make sure you have the following tools ready:
- Non-woven wallpaper paste
- Roller or block brush
- Wallpaper smoother or seam roller
- Sharp utility knife
- Spirit level or plumb line
- Clean cloth
With the right tools, you’ll work faster — and get a cleaner finish.

Preparing the wall
A beautiful wall starts with a good foundation.
Make sure the surface is smooth, clean and dry. Remove any old wallpaper and fill small holes or cracks. For highly absorbent walls, we recommend using a primer first.
The smoother the surface, the better the final result.
Important: check your wallpaper before you start

Apply the paste to the wall

Hang the first panel straight
Always start from a straight line, for example along a door frame or by using a spirit level.
Place the first panel from top to bottom and smooth it into place gently. Work from the centre outwards to prevent air bubbles.
Spot an air bubble? No worries — you can easily smooth it out.

Continue panel by panel
Hang each next panel neatly against the previous one. Because the pattern is designed to continue, there’s no need to measure or match it — one less thing to worry about.
Smooth each panel carefully and trim any excess wallpaper at the top and bottom with a sharp utility knife.
Take your time and work step by step — you’ve got this.

Tips for the best result
- Work in good lighting so you can clearly see what you’re doing
- Use enough paste, but avoid overly wet spots
- Take a step back now and then to check the overall look
- Don’t rush — a neat result comes from working calmly
Applying non-woven wallpaper is one of the easiest ways to quickly add atmosphere to your space.
Finally
You don’t need to be an experienced DIYer to hang wallpaper yourself. With the right preparation and a bit of patience, you’ll get surprisingly far — and the result is instantly visible.
